- WNOU listeners vote Chris Brown off station
Pop music radio station WNOU-FM (100.9) pulled Chris Brown’s music from its playlist today, a decision based on listener criticism of the singer after his arrest in connection with the assault of a woman.
Brown, 19, was charged Sunday with making criminal threats. An early morning attack in Los Angeles involved an unidentified woman reported to be
Rihanna , the pop star who began dating Brown last year.
WNOU program director Tim Rainey, who hosts afternoon programming at WNOU as “Rayne,” polled his audience for feedback, and 52 percent voted to bounce Brown.

The station characterizes the move as a suspension of airplay, and hits ranging from “Run It” to “Kiss Kiss” may reappear when more is known about the case or the legal issues are resolved.
“We are encouraging our listeners to speak out against domestic violence,” Rainey said.Labels: chris brown, news, rihanna
